Over the last few days we've had some trouble with the site, but it's finally looking like we're past that. In the perfect example of a cascading failure, one thing led to another until we had a whole lot of work. What happened, in brief, was that our server links failed after a restart (because of an earlier DDoS) and the switch that controls that got entirely overloaded (which led to all the slowness) as a result of the tracker backlog during which we were getting around 30,000 requests a second. This meant that we had to first spend a few days troubleshooting before locating the problem and rebooting the system, which explains the downtime.
Thanks to porkpie and A9 (amongst everyone else who either offered or provided help) for their work in fixing this, and thanks everyone for your patience. We still have a few things that need restarting or resolving, namely a lot of our schedule is not running. This will mean that for the time being the scripts that control removal of inactive torrents and the loss of leeching privileges will be suspended, though those functions will have returned by the end of the day.
Note: Because the tracker had to be restarted, it will take approximately a week for everyone's required ratio to return to its correct value.
