14.10.12 In the past few days we made some changes to the rules. All users are strongly advised to read them again carefully. For more info or if you have any questions, please post here.
as some of you may have already noticed, during the past few days we made some changes in the rules. The most important changes are as follows:
1) Forbidden characters for file names and torrent titles:
Rules wrote:
Use only the Latin alphabet for the title. The characters / : < > | must not be used in the file/folder names. The characters / : < > | ( ) [] must not be used in torrent title except in cases when they are in the movie title according to IMDB.
2) Audio descriptions: Compression ratio is NOT required anymore
3) In "Prohibited content": non-3D BD50-to-BD25 Re-encodes are not anymore allowed. Since we do not allow dupes and since there is already enough "supply" of transparent 1080p MKV encodes, that are also much smaller than BD25, we felt that BD25 Re-encodes have become an obsolete format for our tracker, given also the relatively low demand for them. Please note, however, that BD25 Remuxes, aka BD25 Untouched, and 3D BD25 Re-encodes are still allowed. For similar reasons, we have also prohibited BD5 and BD9 (aka AVCHD) encodes.
4) In "Dupe rules": there are several changes here:
There is no exception anymore for DVD5-sized 720p encodes vs. over-DVD5-sized 720p encodes. That means that from now on only one 720p encode is allowed to stay.
There are now detailed rules about how releases can be replaced by other releases. The new rules allow for a selection process that is geared towards quality / transparency. "Only the best one remains in the end."
