We here at BTN headquarters know there are many people in the bitorrent world that have been itching to join us here. So we figure, considering the world as we know it is going to end on the 21st, why not let them enjoy their last moments.
So, starting at 10am (my time) on December 21 - all userclasses of Power User and above will be able to send their invites. They will remain open for 24 hours or when the rapture happens, whichever comes first.
Don't have any invites? The Lumens Store has now been stocked. Note - Users and Members will also be able to purchase invites during this time, but will be unable to send them this time around, sorry.
You are responsible for who you invite. If they cheat/trade/sell blah blah blah - you will hear from us. If they simply don't use their account or attract many H&Rs - oh well, shit happens. This is your opportunity to help build the userbase, BTN members, so be selective. Take some care with who you are letting in. We want to maintain the integrity of our wonderful community.
There are several rules you must follow when considering a user to invite:
1: The trading, selling, buying, sharing, or exchanging of invites or accounts is strictly forbidden.
2: Invite only your friends, people you trust, and those you have known for a long time.
3: Users are forbidden from giving away invites on any forum, whether public or private. This includes recruitment sections on other trackers, unless approved by staff here.
Users are responsible for their invitations and invitees. Users found breaking these rules will have their invites permanently disabled at best. At worst, their account and their invite tree will be disabled.
Dos and Don'ts
You can: Offer invites within a Private Tracker's class restricted forum such as a PU+ forum so long as it is not breaching that tracker's rules. If you are unsure, please contact a staff member prior to posting.
You can't: Offer invites on a public tracker's forums, invite-forums (not attached to a Private Tracker as described above), private-forums (not attached to a Private Tracker as described above) or IRC channels (public or private). If you are unsure, ask a BTN Staff member first.
The 'red' list of course is not exhaustive but should give you enough of an idea what what's allowed vs what's not without naming all the specific private/public invite forums, auction or other places you're not allowed to offer invites.
1: Selling invites will get you banned.
2: Trading invites will get you banned.
3: Offering invites in places other than those in green above, will get you banned.
Do the right thing and we'll continue to grow with a great community full of people that appreciate the benefits a good community and will give-back to every member.
