You may have noticed the new section "Capture". That's because we have decided to go ahead and try out allowing TV Captures of stuff not available on DVD. Jase99 has been working on a guide for how to encode these sources to maintain the site's quality levels. Encodes from these sources will not be allowed until the guide is released on the forums in the next few days.
Until then however, we invite you start uploading your TV Caps so the encoders will have stuff to get to work on as soon as the guide is ready. Until we get all of the kinks worked out we are requiring that ALL TV Caps, regardless of user class, be added to the Offered section first (no direct uploading). Staff will review them to ensure they meet the rules requirements and will allow them for upload as needed.
The caps must follow these rules:
Quote
TV Caps must meet the following requirements:
* No HD caps are allowed for any reason
* No caps of anything currently available on DVD (i.e. the DVD can be purchased the day the cap is uploaded, future release dates don't apply)
* Sources must be the Widescreen version unless none exists, letterboxed if no Widescreen version exists, and fullscreen only if no other version exists
* Sources must be from a digital source other than HDTV (e.g. PDTV, Satellite, Digital Cable) whenever possible, **og caps are allowed if there is no digital source available
* Sources must have all commercial breaks removed, but the opening and credits must remain intact
* The only format allowed is the raw .ts or .mpg capture. (dvr-ms files need to be moved to a .ts or .mpg container)
* The audio must be in it's original aired format.
Dupe rules for Captures
* Channel logos, in show pop-ups, etc alone are not a valid reason for a "proper" and will be considered a dupe
* All captures will be immediately duped by a DVD source
* Digital sourced captures will always dupe an **og capture
Screenshot and description rules are essentially the same as those that currently exist for DVD sources. All caps still need to have the required PAL or NTSC in the torrent title too. If you have any questions just ask, rather than assuming, to save us all some headaches.
