How To Enter

Put the letters "AO" or our site's logo SOMEWHERE awesome, and take a picture, then post your images HERE. It's that easy! The most epic, baller, retarded fuckin' awesome groovicle testicalasic image voted on by the users will win. Sorry, I got a lil carried away there (tekky).

THE RULES

• In keeping with AO's already growing fucked up community, you can do this in any fashion you want, from nude gf's to painting your garage up.
• Nothing "illegal". We don't promote cutting it into some nerds forehead or some twisted shit KingDeath would do.
• NO PHOTOSHOP! We have many graphic designers here at AO, and they'll check all submissions for photoshopping. If you use photoshop at all, then you are disqualified.
• All submission MUST BE IN by 24th APRIL 2011. Voting will continue until the 1st MAY 2011.
• MAX of 5 images can be submitted by 1 user!

That's about it for all this contest bs. Please submit it to the Competition Thread when you're done, and you'll automatically be entered into the draw.

Shipping & Handling and cost of hardware is all covered by AO, so winner will just need to submit address of delivery and that's all she wrote.

Even More Good News From AO

Well it has been a long time since we have actually had some changes and additions to report. So here we go with all the new updates that some of you may already know about but you may not.

The AlphaOmega Store

If you had not already noticed we now have the Store tab (sorry it took so long), which you can click and it will take you to the Store. From here you are able to do a few things. (more will be added at a later date)

• Buy Additional Invites (Once brought your invite count will be increased by 1)
• Buy Upload GB's (Useful to get to the next rank. Each unit is 1GB, so if you buy 20, its 20GB!)
• Custom Title
• Transfer Points (Transfer selected amount of your points from you to a friend)

Personal RSS Feed

Finally after months of work, the Persoanal RSS Feed now works, this can be used with uTrorrent & ruTorrent (i think it works with Deluge and Transmission too). If you know how to use RSS then it is pretty self explanitory, but if you are having trouble with it please do not hesitate to come into our IRC to the help channel #Atlas and speak to one of our friendly Staff. Otherwise check out the Forums for some answers.

New ANiME Section

After months and months of members begging for an Anime section we have implemented it. Just look at the Cats on the main Browse Page and you will see it there. It seems to have only been up for a day and well there are load of torrents already filling it up, so it looks like it was a good addition to the site. Please if you do encounter any issues with this new Section do not hesitate to contact one of our friendly Staff so they can assists you.

New MP3/Spam Tab

Right, we have implemented a new TAB which takes you to a whole new section of the Site. This is the MP3/Spam TAB. If you are looking for your daily fix of APPS, E-Books, MP3's & Misc then you will be able to find it all in here. This will not be announced in the Main channel on IRC but it will still be announced in the #AO.Announce channel.

Donations

We would like to thank all of you that are continually donation to us here at AO, every little penny helps with the increasing server costs. The bigger we grow the more we need, but right now you guys are doing a fantastic job. Our coders are working day and night to make things alot better and to make everything automated. So they thank you too!

A Special Thanks To You All



Well guys, as you may have noticed the Donations bar has once again hit the 100% mark, so as a special thank you we would like to give you a special treat. From now until the 15th April we will be running double seed bonus. YES!! You are getting twice the amount as you would normally get as a special thanks from us.


But, that is only just the half of it. We want to give you more, alot more!


So, the next stage is!! If you can get the donations bar to read 200%, yes you heard it right 200% we will extend the double seed bonus up until the end of April and also we will give you double upload credit too. R.I.P Elizabeth Taylor

MOVIE legend Elizabeth Taylor has died at the age of 79

The Oscar-winning star died "peacefully" this morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles from congestive heart failure. Her spokeswoman Sally Morrison said the actress's children were at her side. Dame Elizabeth had been taken to the hospital with congestive heart failure six weeks ago. A spokeswoman for the hospital said: "She passed away at 1.28am (LA time) this morning." Ms Morrison said it was "a condition with which she had struggled for many years".

The statement said: "Though she had recently suffered a number of complications, her condition had stabilised and it was hoped that she would be able to return home. Sadly, this was not to be." The star's son Michael Wilding added: "My mother was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humour, and love. "Though her loss is devastating to those of us who held her so close and so dear, we will always be inspired by her enduring contribution to our world."

In 2009 Liz had heart surgery to replace a leaky valve and she suffered from a long history of health problems. The actress — who was married eight times — won two Oscars in the 1960s. She picked up gongs for her roles in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf and Butterfield 8. Her personal life included two tempestuous marriages to Welsh film star Richard Burton.

User Uploads are here!

AlphaOmega has decided to allow user uploads. This means anyone who is Philosopher+ rank can now upload to AO. But with this comes warnings and all that. You'll notice on the torrent listing page that user uploads are in a green text and site uploads remain blue.

User uploads are semi-regulated. We'll be regulating what releases they are and trying to monitor what they could have are. Please pay a little caution to User uploads as they aren't officially accepted uploaders. This means they could possibly have spyware in them as we don't scan the contents. So apps, Games and anything with a .exe in it, please scan first with anti-virus software. If you come across anything that is questionable, please report it immediately to an FLS, Mod, Admin or if they don't answer straight to a sysop. Top Priority of removing trash from our site.

But with this new feature, this will allow more content and those hidden gems you don't find anywhere else.

We're very happy to introduce this one, and it's been in the works for some time. We hope you enjoy, and feel free to start uploading new content!

Thanks to everyone who has helped AO get to the 12,000 user mark, and we can't wait to see where the future takes us.

• Minimum 30 torrents a week (Packs over 20GB count as 5).
• ALL torrents must be seeded for 48 hours!
• If after the 48 hours there are 5 seeders you may stop seeding if not you have to seed for 2 weeks (Packs for 2 weeks minimum).
• Minimum upload speeds are evaluated on a case by case basis, 100/100mbit recommended

On Another note, some changes coming to our irc soon.
As you can see the Announce in bot (cerberus) main and #AO.announce channel has changed announce format,
Soon #athena (Pre chan) and #AO.announce (site announce chan) will be invite only, with a new command msg cerberus invite IRCKEY - the irc key can be set in your profile
Our bot, anonymous earns the MOST seed bonus points on AO (over 1.5million points right now), it will soon be giving 10% of them away randomly to random users on irc at random times!
Last but not least, some time before april the IRC bonus rates will change once again, they will be increased alot, over 200 users in IRC will start the irc bonus @ 2 points per hour, then point increase per 30-50 users, we will let you know the final rates later.

内容:A Word From The Boss


So, What's New?

Well, I've been on 'vacation' for 5 or so days now, so I'm not actually here. So, during our migration to the new server we had a few issues with load averages being something stupid high (30, 30 ,30) so that was causing speeds to be pretty bad. I decided to sit down and code for the first time sober in about two months, so now it should all be fixed and working nicely. As an added bonus you can now see the new load averages and ram usage in the footer.

After having some of the PiN members join us we have now closed open registrations. So now the only way to become a member is to be invited. If you have any invites go ahead invite your friends, if you need more invites you can get some for donating.

What Else Do We Have For You?

Our donor appreciation weekend went pretty well, and i know you can sense a but coming. But, we wouldn't mind a few more bucks to help cover the upgrades, but whatever have fun.

We'll be releasing more features soon, as we have all been busy as hell with real life stuff, but do not fear we are all getting back to work so expect to see some new exciting stuff real soon.

On another note, if you have not been here for long then you would not of been around for the contests we had at the begining. So, we will be having some more soon, not sure what yet, but we will be having some to get you our members more involved in the site.
